The City
Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. The best time to visit Edinburgh is during the summer month of July. The weather is generally warmer with average maximum temperatures ranging from approximately 15-17°C (or 59-63 °F). Scotland's high latitude means that we enjoy lovely long summer days and often an extended twilight.
The Scottish capital is a center of culture and the arts and is especially well-known for its festivals. Edinburgh may seem at times to be two separate cities, so different are the 18th-century New Town’s elegant Georgian neighbourhoods of stately terraces from the Old Town’s narrow winding lanes, steep staircases, and hidden passageways. While many of the most popular tourist attractions are along the Royal Mile, which follows the crest of the hill between the castle and Holyrood Palace and Princes Street, be sure to explore the other side of the hill, where you’ll find the picturesque Grassmarket. Being one of Edinburgh’s most famous market squares since the Middle Ages, it rings with history. In this pedestrian-friendly area of shops and cafés look for the White Hart Inn, where Robbie Burns once wrote poetry.
The Global Food Village has a mouth-watering selection of international snacks, from spicy samosa to sweet jalebi. There are also stalls selling a cosmopolitan range of clothing, jewellery and handmade carvings. Take the kids to Mela Kidzone, where they can enjoy craft workshops, hands-on activities, trampolines and bouncy castles...
July is the start of the city's festival season, which are the biggest events of the year. Enjoy this with your family by booking your accommodations through Neurology 2024 to grab the best prices.
