is currently Professor and Chairman of Neurology at Okayama University Medical School in Japan. He graduated Tohoku University School of Medicine (M.D.) and then got PhD title from Tohoku University under the direction of Professor Kyuya Kogure. Professor Koji Abe has been publishing more than 600 papers on cerebral blood flow and metabolism and neurodegenerative diseases. His research interests cover many important fields of neurology especially in the mechanism of ischemic brain damage, gene and stem cell therapy, neuroprotection, and neuroimaging. He is the past president of the International Society of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism (CBFM) and organized World CBFM meeting in Osaka in 2007 and Japan-Asia CBFM meeting Okayama city in 2014. He is currently serving Presidents of both Vas-Cog Japan and Vas-Cog Asia societies. He is also going to organize Japan Neurological Meeting in 2020, which is the world largest neurology meeting with more than 7,000 neurologists joining.

Mamytov Mitalip was born on December 16, 1939, in Osh region of the Kyrgyz Republic in a rural family. He has finished Secondary School an excellent and a successful, from 1958 till 1966 he has studied at Kyzyl-Kiya Secondary Medical School and at Kyrgyz Medical Institute, from which he graduated with honors degrees. From 1966 to 1971 he studied at Clinical Residency and Doctoral Degree at Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) Research Institute of Neurosurgery named after Professor A.L. Polenov. From 1971 until 1973, he worked as a head of neurotraumatology department of Republican Clinical Hospital of the Kyrgyz Republic in Frunze city (now Bishkek). From 1973 to 1998, he worked as an Assistant Professor, then as a professor of Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute. In 1971 he passed Ph.D. defense in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), in 1972 he received a diploma of candidate of sciences. In 1987, he defended Doctoral Dissertation in Kiev. In 1999, he was awarded the academic title “Professor” in Moscow. From 1997 to 2002, he worked as a Pro-rector for Research at Medical Academy. From 2002 to 2007, he worked as a Rector of the Asian Medical Institute. From 2002 to 2005 he worked as Health Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic. Academician M. Mamytov has been attached to a chair of the Department of Neurosurgery of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy since 1998 to present time. He is a President of the Kyrgyz Association of Neurosurgeons, honorary member of the associations of neurosurgeons of Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Honored Worker of Science of Kyrgyz Republic He is an Academician and member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

He is the author of more than 260 scientific works, including 5 monographs, 8 patents, 5 textbooks, scientific supervisor of 2 doctoral and more than 10 Ph.D. theses. Subject of scientific works: brain tumors, craniocerebral traumas, herniated intervertebral discs, neurosurgical aspects of inflammatory diseases of the brain, neurogenic degeneration of internal organs. He performed more than 12,000 operations on the brain and spinal cord.

Stavros J Baloyannis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He graduated from the School of Medicine of Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Postgraduate training (a) in Neurology in Aristotelian University and Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, London, (b) in Neuropathology in Institute of Neurology, Queen Square, Catholic University of Louvain, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA (c) in Neurootology and Neuropathology of Auditory pathway in Harvard University, (d). Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology, University of Pennsylvania, (e) Neuroimmunology, Yale University, New Haven. Research on Blood-Brain Barrier in dementias, Blood-Brain Barrier in Demyelinating diseases, Mitochondria in Alzheimer’s disease, Synaptogenesis in vivo and in vitro, Neuronal apoptosis in dementias and demyelinating diseases, Dendritic pathology in dementias, Pathology of Golgi apparatus in dementias. Special interests: Neuroethics, Neurolinguistics, Philosophy of Neurosciences, Application of mathematics in Neurosciences, Neurology and the Art. Member of 40 scientific societies in Greece and abroad. Honorary Member of the Academy of Hellenic Air Forces. President of the Society for the amelioration of the quality of life in chronic neurological diseases. President of the Orthodox Medical Association for support of health and medical education in Africa. He was visiting the professor at Tufts University, Democratic University, Aristotelian University, School of Theology, Aristotelian University, School of Philosophy.

He is the author of 28 textbooks on Neurology, Neuropathology, Neuropsychology and of 678 papers, published in Greek and International Journals on Neurology, Neuropathology, Neuroimmunology and Neurotics. Distinctions 12 Gold medals. Title Archon Actuarius of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople’s. Head of the 1st Department of Neurology, Aristotelian University for 20 years (1992-2011).Emeritus Professor of Neurology, Aristotelian University, Thessaloniki, Greece. Director of Research Institute for Alzheimer’s disease, Iraklion, Langada.

Nikolaos Gkantsinikoudis is a neurosurgery resident and research-clinical fellow of Spine Department and Deformities, Interbalkan European Medical Center, Thessaloniki, Greece. He is also an academic scholar of Medical School, Faculty of Health Sciences, Democritus University of Thrace.

His research interests include Neuroanatomy, Clinical Neurophysiology, Neurotrauma, Neurosurgical Oncology, Vascular Neurosurgery, Spine Surgery and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He is a member of Greek Medical Association.
